One for the Boys

Lest you think I only have girls...or don't sew for boys...

I made this faux layered hoodie for my little dude and his BAB buddie Wheels from some of my husband and I's old Early November shirts (it's a band!  lol ;)

I also have to share this little fact that I was UBER excited about today!  Wheels has a growling "voice box" in his paw and it just up and stopped working a week or so ago.  No warning..one night at bedtime it worked, the next morning...nada.  So we took him in to the Build -a- Bear store today to see if they could fix him...and not only did they do surgery and put in a new growler, it was all complimentary!!!!  I was so excited  that I didn't have to pay for it I used the money I was planning on spending for it to buy these:

I mean...they were JUST like the ones 'Zekiel had on...and it was just too cute to pass up!  lol

and just for fun..a few more of my cutie and Wheels...

I LOVE the one above...and want to play around with it some more, I think we could really rock that sunflair.  :)

On a side note...when Zeke was going to bed tonight he informed me that Wheels needs some jammies...probably Cars jammies...so you can be watching for those!  lol ;)

It's Finally Fall!

I know it's been ACTUALLY been fall for a long time...but now my blog looks all pretty and "fallish" too!  :)  And thanks to Virginia I finally can stop being annoyed by my header been off centered!  Thanks V!!!

And..I know it's too late now, but did you vote?!?!

Because if you didn't maybe you should go sit in a corner and feel like this:

(leggings by Fancy Pants Designs, dresses by BabyFish Designs)
but I'm sure you were all good responsible citizens and voted right?!  :)

So instead you can be proud of yourself and feel like this:

"We're Triplets" Photo Shoot

Let me preface this photo share by saying, #1 - it was very last minute, #2 - I am (OBVIOUSLY) not a professional model and finally, #3 - I should have taken the time to put in my contacts...but since I didn't just ignore the scruntchy face I'm making in most of these!  lol

The We're Triplets Skirts are pretty much only a custom made item because trying to get three skirts all the right sizes for someone to buy just by chance...is pretty hard!  lol but since they are a custom item I talk to you, the customer, about what you like and don't like and then show you fabrics to choose from before I ever start the skirt.  For this item I often even special order fabric.

Ok, enough nitty gritty, let's get on with the show!

and there ya have it!  (and let me just say, this skirt...SOOOOOOOOO comfy!!!!)

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

After some heartache here in BabyFish land the past few weeks it was good to celebrate...and celebrate...and celebrate.  Good to have these special times to reflect on the blessings God has so lavished on our family.  Good to give Him the thanks and honor for our two beautiful girls and for our marriage.

We started off the week with Kessa's 4th birthday on Tuesday.

We went to our local splash park with some friends (fenced in, no standing water for drowning worries, and free!  It doesn't get much better!!!) Then they ate lunch with us (hot dogs per the birthday girl's request) and cupcakes.

On Friday Tim and I took Kessa shopping and out to lunch, she had a great time having us all to herself and it's really fun to have some one on one (one on two?) time sometimes!

Friday was Gracie Goo's 1st birthday!!!  I can't believe I have no children under one.  It seems so strange.

The girls opened their presents from Tim's family on Friday night and then on Saturday we had a big blow out.   The girls both got waldorf dolls (aren't they amazing?!?!  Kessa's is made by Jen at Petite Poire Boutique, we've been working together and having so much fun!  Grace's doll was made by Megan at Rainbow Dolls)

I'll save more fun pictures of cakes and party goodness for tomorrow!  Happy Monday!

Wow!

So it's been forever and a day since I've blogged eh?  I've been keeping busy in the customs department though!  How about a few quick pics of some of my favorite customs?  I mean, really, who doesn't love eye candy?!

Yeah....not gonna like, I wanted to keep this one for my little guy, I LOVE the way it turned out.  So bright and funky!

What's that?  I've been gone from blogger for so long you don't know about twirl skirts for three?  Yup, mommy, daughter, and dolly can ALL match in style and comfort now.  This set flew out of the shop in a few hours, but I've got more coming up!

and my way cute daughter sporting the new fall style.  LOVE.  LOVE the kid, love the dress, love the Robots shirt she picked, LOVE!!!

and a custom in the fall style.

Ok, that's it for now...but come back tomorrow for some random thoughts about my little girl turning FOUR!!!!!  (how did that happen?!)

Birthday Girl! (s)

Yup, the first week or two in August are busy busy in our family!  First, Kessa will turn 4 on the 3rd, then Grace will be 1 (how is that possible?!?!) on the 6th and Tim and I's anniversary is on the 9th!

So, while we're gearing up for lots of fun, the girls and I went out and took pictures of their birthday dresses (which are also available as custom orders in the shop!) for their invitations.

These dresses actually aren't upcycled.  I caved and bought knit yardage so that I would have enough to make them matching dresses.

heheheh, Grace is in LOVE with the balloons!  Pretty sure nothing she gets for her birthday will hold a candle in her eyes to these things.  he!

And I just HAD to share this one.  Classic Kessa.  Cracks me up every time I look at it!

I am a...

Twirly swirly girly skirt fan!  And my daughter is too.  You can expect to see a lot of this style in the shop in a few weeks.  My daughter has worn it for at least part of the day every day since I've made it for her.  She LOVES to spin and twirl in it and show me her "ballerina spin."

The fact that her doll has a matching one?  Pure and simple icing on the cake.  This pattern is by Little Blue Boo and is totally amazing...and there are adult sizes!

And there's a new listing up in the shop...pop on over, check out the name, and then leave your guess on the facebook page as to what children's movie/book the title is from for your chance to win a BFD buck.

Purple Power!

I switched out the thread on my serger to purple a few days ago for some customs and I'm having fun making up some other items too.  (And in case you still haven't visited the facebook page and happened to miss out, if you order something with purple thread by tomorrow you'll get 10% off!)

However, with all the new stuff I've been sewing I'm MOST excited about the new pattern I got to test out today....I've been waiting for this pattern for MONTHS and Ashley at Little Blue Boo, as always, has made it worth the wait!  I got the pattern this afternoon and I whipped out a doll version for Gabby (our Bitty Baby) and Kessa.  They're sooo cute and Kessa LOVED the twirl in this twirl skirt.  In fact...I think it may need a warning label sewn into the inside that says something like, "Warning, may cause excessive twirling.  Wear only in open spaces"  hehe!  Be expecting TONS of these in the shop in the next few weeks....and even more on my daughters!  lol

Sadly, I don't have any pictures of them yet, but with all these new clothes we sometimes have a hard time finding just the right color nail polish to go with them...

but after much searching, and check with all the girls in the family...

we usually are able to settle on one!

Tomorrow is our freezer cooking day, so we'll have a busy day, but then a full freezer!

Randomness

The house is quiet, except for the soft click clacking of the keys as I type.  And the sick baby moans coming from the bedroom.  That sound is enough to melt anyone.

It's after midnight and I've just finished up two customs so they'll be ready to ship out at first light Monday morning.  I thought that I'd pop in here and share a few outfits I've made for my kids (and finish up my hot chocolate) before heading to bed.

A very simple boy's hoodie...this may be the first hoodie I made for 'Zekiel.

Zeke and Wheels in their matching shirts...and Kessa dress is made from a shirt I got on a high school mission trip.

Kessa picked out most of the fabric for this one...I think she did a great job!!!

And finally...this is the shirt that started it all!  This is the 90 minutes shirt from Made.  After this, I was hooked on upcycling.

Well that's it for now.  I'm hoping to get a fun new dress up in the shop later today...but I've also got a lot to do to get ready for a 3 day conference I'm leaving for crazy early tomorrow morning too.  Crossing my fingers I can get it all done!  (and that my sick baby starts feeling better, makes me so sad when she feels cruddy!)
